Cheras is a suburb of Kuala Lumpur. It is located to the southeast of the city centre, and stretches across the border into Selangor. Cheras borders Ampang to the north and Kajang to the south. In Selangor, Cheras is within the Hulu Langat district. The neighbourhood is densely populated.

Major roads serving Cheras includes the Middle Ring Road 2 (Route 28), the Cheras-Kajang Expressway (E7), SILK Highway (E18) and Jalan Cheras.
